GeoNavigator LT Java
This web-page demonstrates some features of GeoNavigator LT Java.
Two demo Java applets display geographic data of two fictitious companies. Each
of the applets is fully interactive and has a toolbar. Using various tools you
can perform zooming, panning, object selecting and related information
retrieving. More detailed description of each tool in the toolbar is given
below.
A bank "Bank" has its branches all over Lithuania. This map shows
the location of each branch.
A hotel union "Hotels of Vilnius" has a network of hotels in Vilnius.
This map gives information about location, addresses, phone numbers of
each hotel. If a hotel has its own web-page, the page is loaded in
a separate window.
Each Java applet has a toolbar. Various tools can be used to alternate
the parameters of image (i.e., zooming in or out, panning in the desired
direction) and obtain information on objects in the map. Description of
each tool in toolbar is given below:
-
- Select tool - this tool allows to obtain information on objects
in the map. When this tool is selected, clicking on object
causes its description to appear under the map. If the object
has an URL to another web-page, GeoNavigator LT Java
loads object's URL.
-
- Pan tool - this tool shifts map center to the point where
user clicked within the map. Another way to move within a map is to
drag the image with a mouse button pressed, and then releasing a button.
To cancel panning, just press Esc before releasing mouse button.
-
- Zoom-in tool - clicking within the map with this tool selected
makes scale to decrease (the view enlarges), and the clicked position
on the map remains at the same point. Alternatively, you can drag mouse
(a rectangle appears) to bound the desired-to-zoom area.
To cancel zooming, just press Esc before releasing mouse button.
-
- Zoom-out tool - this tool does zooming the other way round as
compared to the previous one. This tool also shifts map center
to the new position but instead the scale increases and the view reduces.
And again, as in previous case, just press Esc to cancel zooming.
-
- Fit-to-map tool - the function of this tool is to reset the
scale and position of current map into start values. Just
select Fit-to-map tool and click anywhere within the map.
